Storyline:
Madaari movie is a social thriller pertinent to the current political scenario in India.

A burgeoning nation of 125 crore people in which the powered call the shots. The relationship is symbolic of that between a madaari (street performer) and jhamoora (sidekick).

The one holding the damroo (a small two-headed drum) of power makes the other dance to his tunes. But what if the damroo changes hands and lands in the hands of the common man? And those usually played around with taking over the reins of the game?

The film was shot in New Delhi, Rajasthan, Dehradun, Shimla and Mumbai.

Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director:

Nishikanth Kamath is an Indian filmmaker. His debut film, Dombivali Fast earned him accolades in Marathi Cinema, as it went on to become the biggest Marathi film of the year. He remade his film, in Tamil with R. Madhavan in the lead as Evano Oruvan, which opened to rave reviews.
He has also acted in Marathi film Saatchya aat gharat. His Bollywood debut project is based upon the 2006 Mumbai Bombings, titled, Mumbai Meri Jaan, which is filmed in Hindi. In 2011 he directed John Abraham starrer Force  which was a remake of Tamil movie 'Kaakha Kaakha'   Drishyam done well staring Ajay Devgn and Tabu however his last movie Rocky handsome staring John Abraham was a flop and was indeed a below average movie.

My Gut Feel and comments:

I am the common man. I'm polite, I love my family and I play by the rules. And sometimes I get pushed around. That's my lifestyle, and that's what I try to bring to characters. Eugene Levy.
Above statement seems true in the case of upcoming movie Madaari whose promo in a way reminds  a movie “A Wednesdaystarring Naseerudin Shah although the plot of both the movies is quite different.

Nishikanth Kamath as a director is capable of handling a complex subject like this, going by the movies he directed in the past like Mumbai Meri Jaan, force, and drishyam.

Irrfan Khan turned producer with this film and as an actor as well he seems have done justice to the challenging role. Story and screenplay of this movie seem engaging and should appeal to its targeted audience. Madaari would face a challenge at the box office from Sultan although sultan would enter its 3 weeks by the time Madaari would release. Madaari was supposed to release in June then shifted to 15th July and now finally releasing on 22nd July.

Going by my gut feeling I am giving Madaari 3 stars out of 5, one week before the release. Although I would be happy if it turned out to be 3.5 star movie as with rocky handsome being an average movie I would love to see Nishikant as director bouncing back with a bang…
